Philadelphia grand jury - Hope is for hopers
Australia’s Philadelphia Grand Jury released one of the best and most acclaimed albums in Australia for 2009. There is not a single track on this album that lets down. Brilliantly crafted pop songs from a fiercely talented rock band. The album features catchy indie punk-soul hits, which months after release - is still sitting pretty in the top 5 of the independent charts in Australia. “Hope Is For Hopers” has spawned four independent hit tracks, and a crossover hit with ‘The Good News’. The album debuted at #1 on the Independent album chart and it also debuted at #34 on ARIA album chart (#7 on all-Australian ARIA chart) and is still currently in the chart !!! It was selected as radio station JJJ feature album and received 2 coveted J Award nominations: Album Of The Year and Unearthed Award ! The Philly Jays won an AIR Award (Association of Independent Record Labels) for 'Best Single' for 'Going To The Casino'.
Australian indie electronic artist Winston Giles has just completed a new album "LOVERS". The album is a collection of songs penned by Giles that are refreshingly honest and diverse. LOVERS has a brooding sexy feel, laced with an indie disco edge. Giles' wears his influences on his sleeve, taking many of his cues from classic and contemporary artists like: LCD Sound System, Hot Chip, Duran Duran, David Bowie and Pink Floyd. This stylish chic album has been recieved to rave reviews and has garnered much radio play around the world. We have placed tracks already with Nokia and various other placements including Fashion TV.
'The Parallels Amongst Ourselves' is a killer collection of rockin tunes from an awesome new Aussie Band: Sugar Army. The band have not - looked back since releasing this debut album, with achievements such as The Big Day Out festival now to brag about. With a good lick of dirty deep rock (think Queens of the stone age), there is much reason to turn up loud this album. "Tongues in cheeks" is a perfect modern rock track and reason to agree with many in OZ who feel that Sugar Army are destined to win the war.
The latest Atari baby release, the ep: “Los Angeles” depicts the fast-paced, dark, brooding, sexy and notorious world of the Los Angeles music underground. The crazy video made the years’ top 10 most requested videos on Australia’s channel v music channel and the tracks off the EP, “Bad Boy” and “Don’t stop” have been synced to Sony playstation games and TVC’s in the USA. Produced by Winston Giles and C.J.Dolan the sound features elements of trance, big-beat, house and electro, whilst maintaining a dark and dirty feel. Through the use of ferocious guitars and driving tempos, Atari Baby has created a very different and driving EP release.
